Narrative, deck, pitch & data room

Investors say it's interesting, then nothing.

You've watched investors nod along, say it's interesting, then go quiet. Usually it's the first three slides or the first two minutes: the deck leads with history instead of who pays, or the model doesn't survive diligence. We find where you're losing them, and fix it with you.

Credited in full within 30 days: the narrative session toward a Deck Rebuild, the data room review toward the Fundraising Sprint or the Partnership.

What founders tell us, and what's usually going on.

“We don't have a deck yet. Where do we start?”

What's usually underneathWith the story, not the slides. Agree who pays, why now and what this round proves, and the deck nearly writes itself.

“My deck is 22 slides.”

What's usually underneathWho pays and why now is on slide 9. Many investors never get that far.

“Investors say it's interesting and go quiet.”

What's usually underneathThe deck undersells the team and explains what you built, not what it's worth.

“The better I explain the technology, the worse it goes.”

What's usually underneathInvestors judge the application, not the precision. Lead with where it goes and what it saves.

“I freeze when they interrupt.”

What's usually underneathA first meeting is a conversation, not a recital. Answer, one proof, back to the story.

“Our model shows a huge opportunity and nobody engages with it.”

What's usually underneathOne assumption that can't hold up makes investors doubt every other number, including the true ones.

Fix the story, or get the data room ready.

If the story isn't landing

  • A written summary: the narrative in a paragraph, the slides to change and the order to change them

Before diligence

  • Every key assumption checked against real ranges from comparable companies

  • Two mock meetings: one rapid-fire, one partner-style with interruptions
  • Coaching in English or Mandarin
  • Bookable within a week of your meeting

To book, message either of us on LinkedIn with your meeting date and we'll send you the link. Starting with the narrative session instead? Its fee is credited toward the Deck Rebuild.

AI & Software · Seed

  • Same investor list
  • Narrative rebuilt

A capable team, but the deck buried who pays and why now, and most investors never got that far. We reworked the narrative around the customer, the cost of the problem and the milestone the round buys, and rebuilt the deck around it. From 0 first meetings in the first 100 emails to 5.

Deep Tech · Seed

  • Tighter answers
  • Partner-meeting mocks

A strong company, but answers that ran long and lost the room. We worked on the story, the shape of every answer and the hard questions investors in this space ask, rehearsed in partner-meeting-style mocks. Twice as many investors moved from a first meeting to a second.

  • Significantly less dilution
  • Valuation anchored on comparables

The more precisely the team explained the technology, the less investors understood where it goes. Before you book.

Which should I start with?

If investors aren't getting it, or you don't have a deck yet, the narrative session: an hour on the story, with your deck read beforehand. If diligence is coming or investors go quiet partway through it, the data room review.

Do you write the deck for me?

In the Deck Rebuild, yes, from a story we agree with you first. The narrative session tells you what to change if you'd rather do it yourself.

My English isn't my first language. Does that matter?

Investors judge clarity, not accent. We coach in English or Mandarin and rehearse in English, so you go in having said the hard answers out loud.

Are the sessions refundable or credited?

The narrative session and the data room review aren't refundable, because we do the review work before we speak. Within 30 days, the narrative session is credited in full toward a Deck Rebuild, and the data room review toward the Fundraising Sprint or the Fundraising Partnership.
